Most importantly, we appreciate your always trying to gauge where my daughter’s heart was
We so appreciate your experience, expertise, and perspective over the last one and half years... We homeschool moms always think we are not doing enough. Without your wisdom and reasonable advice to pull me back from the edge of the cliff, I probably would have had (my daughter) take 8 SAT IIs, re-take her SAT I, do debate, teach a class, and a whole host of other things, which would have only taken away focus from her already full plate. This fall she was preparing for her Math level 2, but when it was borderline that she would break 700, we decided to let her focus on writing her essays and preparing a music supplement instead. (That was partly because of your advice to only take the Math 2 if she was scoring well.) Thank you also for your honesty about her essay, which needed to completely change direction, and for helping us to prioritize well the pieces of the enormous app process. Most importantly, we appreciate your always trying to gauge where (my daughter’s) heart was, always asking her what she wanted to do (amidst many good choices for classes and extracurriculars). While we all have to do things that are not our favorite, you gave her the freedom to fully focus on her interests. We have a much better chance of excelling at what we love to do. My heart was relieved when you validated what I already knew to be true.
I can't imagine what I would have done without her
Mrs. Webb's advice and critiques changed writing application essays from a potential nightmare to a fabulous experience. I love to write, but college essays provided a special type of challenge, since I needed to present my own strengths. While at first I was uncomfortable with this, Mrs. Webb helped me see that there was a humble way to go about it: not boasting or bragging, but giving a brief insight into the kind of person God has made me and why that kind of person would be a good fit for the school. Her helpful, detailed critiques also spurred me to improve the style and syntax of my writing and phrase things in a way admissions officers would understand. As it happened, I didn't even end up using every application essay I worked on – I got accepted early on to my first choice school. Mrs. Webb continued to advise me as I submitted applications for scholarships and honors programs there, and, providentially, everything has continued to fall into place. Throughout this process Mrs. Webb's assistance and advice – both her sound common sense and her fund of experience – have been invaluable, and I can't imagine what I would have done without her.
Thank you so much... for your keen eyes and words of encouragement
I just want to share the great news that (my daughter) has been accepted to all 9 early decision / action universities she applied to. She's been offered merit scholarship money from all the private universities with some of the offers being much more than we anticipated. She was also blessed with a handwritten letter and a personal phone call from two of the Christian universities regarding her essays. Thank you so much for all your guidance and most especially for your keen eyes and words of encouragement on her Common App essay. It gave my family great pleasure to recommend you to our friends during our holiday social events.
You have changed our lives
I’m busy taxiing my last born to and from his activities and encouraging him to study for his SAT/ACT tests and not letting any academic balls drop. Because I know, now, how important this junior year is. I have a new appreciation for helping him stay on track towards college. The first two boys were pretty much accidental students, that is, until we met you. If I don't say it enough, Jeannette, you have changed our lives.
We appreciate your care and professionalism
Thank you so much for helping our sons get into college. We appreciate your care, professionalism, concern for keeping our costs down, your attention to detail, and all the help with applications! We look forward to working with you again!
