Your comments went above and beyond in helping me fix some glaring errors and many subtleties
Thank you so much for all your help with my essays. I know that I honestly wrote way too many essays (and applied to too many schools), but I really appreciate all the feedback you gave me. I usually have a hard time rewriting, because I get attached to what I originally wrote. Your comments went above and beyond in helping me fix some glaring errors and many subtleties. Thank you again for all the advice and help.
We felt you understood our journey
Thank you for your wisdom during the past years since we stepped into the uncharted territory of college applications for our homeschooled children. The newsletters, the teleseminar and the resources you offered helped us tremendously. We knew our children were unique all along and never felt under the pressure to measure up to outside schools' children - maybe we didn't know any better at the time. However, when our oldest entered her junior year in high school and we suddenly realized that we didn't know much about college applications other than taking PSAT, SAT and ACT. We felt you understood our journey and we valued your advice. Your sound council calmed us and guided us to present our children in a solid yet intriguing way. Now we have successfully sent off our first child to college and have the second one waiting to get in. Thank you for all you do. May God bless you and your family so that you can continue to be a great blessing to others.
Thanks for lifting us out of our trenches once in awhile to consider the more important long-range view
Thank you, Jeannette, for the frequent reminders to savor our senior, and our children in general. Thanks for lifting us out of our trenches once in awhile to consider the more important long-range view, what matters most is our relationship with our children.
Jeannette is a gem!
It was 1 a.m., and I was up scouring the Internet looking for National Merit Scholarship information for my high school student. I saw a comment on a website that threw me into a panic. Then I remembered that help was just an email away. After sending my query to Jeannette, I was able to sleep, knowing that she would clear it all up for me. The next day I got not only the correct answer to my National Merit question but the sage advice that it might not be the best idea to do important research in the middle of the night! That's only one example of the type of timely and levelheaded service you can expect from Jeannette. Our family began working with Jeannette when our daughter was in junior high. Her sound advice and organized approach to homeschooling through high school and the college application process gave us the courage to forge ahead. Through planning courses to take, writing the counselor letter, and putting together the transcript, transcript legend, student resume, and school profile, Jeannette was behind us, helping us look at it through the eyes of college admissions officers. Now our daughter will be attending her first-choice university in the fall with ample scholarship. Jeannette is a gem!
We are just beginning to see the fruits of putting together a solid, professional-quality college application
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you again for all the help that you gave us in the college application process. We are just beginning to see the fruits of putting together a solid, professional-quality college application, and we could never have accomplished this without you! Your step-by-step process including examples was so helpful, and your feedback was invaluable! I also wanted to share with you the rewards we have reaped from your guidance. At this point, (our daughter) has heard back from 3 out of 4 colleges. From Hope College she has received a 4 -year 50% merit scholarship. She also won the Distinguished Artist Scholarship from her portfolio. That adds another $2,500 per year. Grove City College has awarded her the Fellowship Scholarship for being one of the top 8 applicants this year. She received $7,500 each year. With this scholarship, she will be enrolled in special honors courses and forming mentoring relationships with the professors. Finally, from Hillsdale, she was ranked in the top 2% of applicants this year. She received a 55% scholarship for 4 years. She was told that her "academic and extracurricular talents combined with the exceptional quality of her application" earned her this scholarship. She was then invited to a Scholars weekend with 30 other applicants. There, she was asked to interview with two professors and to write an essay. She just heard back. Based on her performance over the weekend, she will receive an additional 25% scholarship each year! Needless to say, we are delightfully surprised! Neither (my daughter) nor I--nor my husband--expected to receive so much! I hope you know that I told you all of this not to be boastful but rather because we are very grateful to you for it! We truly believe that so much of this positive response had to do with you and your wise guidance! Thank you for everything!
